My family and I visited for a special event - one of Gustaf's high teas. It was a lovely day. We arrived promptly at 3:30 and were led to our table with finger sandwiches and scones waiting for us. We were served three different types of teas : Jasmine Mint, Prickly Pear, and Mulberry Blackberry. All of the teas were wonderful in their own way, but I enjoyed the Prickly Peak the most. There were three varieties of scone and three different types of sandwiches. Unfortunately, my own pickiness prevented me from enjoying the sandwiches, but everyone else at the table loved them. There was egg salad, a ham and cream cheese with pickle relish roll up, and I believe a ham sandwich with tomato, sprouts, and avocado. (Gustaf's corrected my understanding - this was actually a turkey sandwich). We were also served a tomato bisque, which was very tasty, although I generally prefer mine more blended. We finishdd up with a spectacular cheesecake. The service was excellent, and we were rarely without full tea cups. I would definitely be interested to try their full menu, but I strongly recommend their high tea. Reservations in advance are required.

My husband and I stopped for breakfast as we passed through on our drive home. Only one server and one cook were staffed that day, but they were incredibly efficient and made a wonderful team. It was busy, so of course there was a bit of a wait, but it truly wasn't too long. The food was also excellent. We'd go back again.

I've had a few sandwiches here and they are all great. We've ordered lunch for a small team from here as well and everyone enjoyed what they had. I recommend the Gustaf Melt (turkey, bacon cheese, tomato on their signature bread). Best eaten hot, so keep that in mind if getting take-away.

Happened onto this little cafe and have fallen in love with it. Delicious food, charming atmosphere, and the service is friendly. Wonderful Butternut Squash soup! AND Cranberry wild rice bread. Definitely check it out.

Stopped for Sunday lunch and we liked the general atmosphere and decor as well as the tasty food! I had a melt on wild rice cranberry bread with a bowl of chicken wild rice soup (impressively huge bowl!) and I can't remember what the others ate but it was all good. We even brought home a slice of the homemade apple pie. Yummy and we'll be back.

Amazing food!!! This small restaurant has very charming decor and they pride themselves on their family recipes, made with sustainably produced ingredients, and homemade desserts. Highly recommend the Gobbler. It is an extra lean roast turkey sandwich with spring greens, smooth brie and lingonberry mayo on cranberry wild rice bread. Absolutely delicious! For the side I got a cup of butternut squash soup instead of chips and it was the perfect dish to compliment my sandwich. Hot, creamy, sweet and savory. For dessert I had the cheesecake with lingonberries on top and it was heavenly! The menu is quite diverse and there is something for everyone to enjoy. I look forward to trying more food at Gustaf's soon!

Cute historic building preserving the charm it had as a home. (Full disclosure: it was my grandma’s home; Gustaf was her great-grandpa.). We come to Lindstrom once or twice a year with our five kids and always stop in for lunch and ice cream. The food has a Minnesota home-cooked feel with lots of healthy and vegetarian options. The wild rice soup and ice cream are amazing. We always get seated immediately despite being a family of seven, and in a small town setting parking is always easy. Given my family’s long history in the town and on the property we’d come see it anyway regardless as to what the building were used for, so it’s pleasant for us to see that the cafe has good food, friendly proprietors, and that in their maintenance of the interior design and menu options the proprietors have shown an interest in and respect for the building’s history.
